Darien Boys Lacrosse Overcomes Greenwich, 17-6
|
Three weeks ago the Darien boys lacrosse team scratched out a tough, hard-fought 12-8 win at Greenwich High School in one of the closest games of what has been an unblemished year. In front of a home crowd Saturday afternoon the defending state champs found the sailing much smoother against the Cardinals in the Class L quarterfinals. Darien scored the first five goals of the game and never looked back as the top-ranked Wave defeated Greenwich 17-6. With the win, Darien (19-0) will face No. 5 Glastonbury (16-3) in the Class L semis Wednesday at a time and site to be determined.
