Police: DUI For Woman, 58, Who Left Scene After Motor Vehicle Accident

A woman driving with a blood-alcohol content close to three times the legal limit was involved in an accident with another vehicle in Darien the afternoon after Christmas, then drove off before she was found in Norwalk, Darien police said. Darien Police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

Sometime before 3:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, Dephine Swierc was driving through the intersection of Brookside Road and the Post Road in Darien when the accident took place. Darien police provided no details about the accident other than to say someone in the other vehicle gave police the license plate number of the vehicle that left the scene. The license plate number was reported to other police agencies in the area, and a Norwalk officer spotted it.

DUI Monday for Man, 34, After Fender Bender on Leroy Ave Near Post Road

A 34-year-old man was driving intoxicated when his vehicle got into a minor traffic accident with another vehicle shortly before 1 a.m. Monday (today), police said. After police arrived and began speaking with him, according to the police account, the man got angry and started walking back to his car, police told him to stop. When he didn’t, he was forced to the ground and taken into custody. Darien police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

At 1:03 a.m., the two-vehicle accident on Leroy Avenue near the Post Road was reported to police. Jose Zuniga of Osborne Avenue in Norwalk was driving with three passengers.
