Connecticut state troopers are joining all state police agencies across the country in concentrating on enforcement of DUI and safety belt laws during the entire Memorial Day holiday weekend. Connecticut state troopers are preparing for increased traffic during this Memorial Day weekend and for summer 2016 celebrations and vacations. On Super Bowl Sunday, don’t drink and drive, watch out for drunks on the road, warn Connecticut State Police, who will be watching for intoxicated drivers. And police also have some reminders on gambling within the law. Here’s part of a state police announcement about Super Bowl Game Day:

Parties and gatherings can make Super Bowl Sunday one of the year’s most dangerous days on the roads and highways of our state due to impaired driving-related accidents. “The busy holiday season is past, but this game is an ‘unofficial’ holiday in the U.S. We urge all Connecticut residents to proceed with caution as they celebrate with friends and family” said Colonel Brian Meraviglia. Although kickoff is not until 6:30 p.m., Super Bowl Sunday tends to be an all-day celebration.
