The picture with this article shows an example of what Christmas trees the town Department of Public Works will refuse to pick up as DPW crews go around town hauling away others left at the curb. The picture was posted on Facebook by the Darien Recycling Center with this comment:

“Public Works will not pick up trees with bags, netting, stands or lights. Please adhere to these simple guidelines when putting your tree out for pick-up!” Here’s the DPW collection schedule and announcement (as previously published by Darienite.com):

Christmas Trees must be at the curb by the first morning of the scheduled pick-up. Christmas Tree pick-up is conducted on public streets only.
