Help OPUS for Person-to-Person’s Red Balloon Fundraiser for 600 Campers

A sea of red balloons will decorate Darien mailboxes on Saturday, May 20 to signify OPUS for Person-to-Person’s annual Balloons for Campers Day. This fundraising event supports the Person-to-Person Campership Program, which enabled more than 500 Stamford public elementary school students from low-income households to attend summer camps last summer at no cost. This year OPUS’s goal is to send 600 students to camp. — an announcement from OPUS for Person-to-Person. The Balloon Day campaign officially launches this Thursday, May 4. For the seventh consecutive year, Houlihan Lawrence, formerly Kelly Associates, will generously sponsor the event, continuing their steadfast support of OPUS for Person-to-Person and the community. 

Every dollar contributed goes directly to sending a child to summer camp.

Opus Luncheon Honoring Alumnae, March 1, Raises Money for Balloons for Campers Day

The Opus Luncheon Honoring Alumnae, which is sponsored by Halstead Property, LLC and Barrett Bookstore, will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 1 at The Country Club of Darien. Local author Sara Goff will serve as keynote speaker. Opus for Person-to-Person invites the public, Opus members, alumni and guests to mingle and reconnect with old friends, while supporting Balloons for Campers Day. ____________

Tickets are $65 per person, which includes lunch and a signed copy of I Always Cry at Weddings. USA Today says about “I Always Cry at Weddings,” “The cast is vibrant, and the author describes every character as so unique that you cannot only see them, but hear the inflections in their voices.
