Someone using what looked like fireworks blew up a green metal mail box on Marianne Road.
The incident was reported to police on Thursday, Feb. 4 by a neighbor. A police officer who went to the scene saw that the mailbox was flattened out on the ground near its post, which wasn’t damaged and a small piece of what looked like fireworks nearby.
The estimated damage was about $150.
The neighbor told police the mailbox the evening before, although when police asked other neighbors one reported hearing an explosion at about 11 a.m. the day before (Wednesday, Feb. 4). No other neighbors saw or heard anything suspicious.
