After someone reported seeing a man acting suspiciously on the playground at Cherry Lawn Park at about 11 a.m., Monday, April 3, police went to the park and saw  a 25-year-old Bronx, N.Y. man leaving in a 2005 gray Ford Focus.

Since the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, police pulled over the car. After it stopped, police smelled marijuana and found a marijuana cigarette on the center console.

The man said he was in the playground but not near any children. He wasn’t able to show police his insurance card.

The man was issued an infration ticket charging him with possession of less than  half an ounce of marijuana (which carries a $150 fine), failure to wear a seatbelt, ($92 fine), and failure to carry an insurance card in the car with him while driving,(a $117 fine). Altogether, that’s $359.
