Darien police confiscated two blunts — cigars filled with marijuana — and charged a 20-year-old Stamford man with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

At 12:23 a.m. on Monday, April 9, a police officer on routine patrol saw a vehicle parked in the lot at 3 Parklands Dr. near the entrance to Sellecks Woods. That spot is known for frequent narcotics-related activity after dark.

While approaching the vehicle, the officer smelled the strong odor of marijuana, and found the inside of the vehicle filled with smoke. The Stamford man, sitting in the driver’s seat, said he and his two passengers had just finished smoking some blunts that he had rolled earlier that day.

A search of the vehicle resulted in finding four blunts, which had a total of less than half an ounce of marijuana in them. Only the Stamford man was charged. Transportation was arranged for all three occupants of the vehicle.
