For the next six weeks there will be occasional nighttime lane closures and shoulder closures will take place on both the northbound and southbound sides of Interstate 95 between Exits 8 and 9, the state transportation officials announced.
The closures. between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., are the result of work being done to rehabilitate the highway bridge (named “No. 0032”) over the train tracks between those two just to the west of Darien. The project was scheduled to begin on Wednesday.
The work, expected to be done by sometime in January, is being done by Blakeslee Arpaia Chapman Inc. for just over $4 million.
