The ongoing repaving project on Interstate 95 in Darien and Norwalk will result in ramp closures from Exit 10 to Exit 15, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, starting Oct. 1 (today).

The closures will take place at ramps on both the northbound and southbound sides of the highway (which, in Connecticut, are actually eastbound and westbound).

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced the ramp closures.

Nighttime ramp closures will be required along I-95 in Darien and Norwalk to accommodate a roadway resurfacing project beginning Thursday, October 1, 2015.

The project begins at Exit 10 (Norton Ave.) and ends at Exit 15 (US 7) in both the northbound and southbound directions. The project consists of micro milling 2.5” of the wearing surface and replacing it with 3 inches of Polymer Modified Asphalt. Also, replacement of the top 2 inches of the wearing surface on all ramps within the project limits.

CTDOT Project No. 0035-0195 was awarded to O&G Industries, Inc. of Torrington CT on March 17, 2015 at a cost of $14,488,177.50 and anticipated to be complete November 2015.  This project is administered by the Office of Construction – District 3, New Haven.

The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday thru Friday).

I-95 northbound and southbound Exits 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, & 15 on and off ramps will be closed at various dates between 10/01/15 through 10/31/2015 from 9:00 pm. to 6:00 am. There will be detours in place with detour signs posted to guide motorists around the closures.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
