New Canaan Police: Man, 44, Assaults, Pushes Victim Out of Car Near Talmadge Hill Station

An Ansonia man pushed a victim out of a train car at the Talmadge Hill Railroad Station on Saturday, according to New Canaan police, who arrested him by warrant on Sunday.

Police described the incident and investigation with this account (including accusations not proven in court):

At about 8:35 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, officers were dispatched to Talmadge Hill Train Station on a report that a person there was walking on the train tracks crying.

Police found no one there, but later found the victim at Radio Shack on Park Street in downtown New Canaan.

Following an investigation, police learned that the victim had been assaulted by the Ansonia man and then pushed out of a car near the Talmadge Hill Railroad Station.

Local authorities obtained an arrest warrant and police in Ansonia took him into custody.

He was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

Police held the man on $1,500 bond and scheduled him to appear Monday in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
