After marriage, Nancy and Jack raised their family while being transferred back and forth between Houston and New York, ultimately settling in Darien. Nancy was an amazing mother and actively involved in raising her children.

She was a volunteer in the high school music office, manager of the softball team, and a timer at track meets as well as a full-time chauffeur and gourmet cook.

Nancy enjoyed traveling and boating with Jack as well as socializing with their many friends. Nancy was game to jump in their plane with Pilot Jack who would fly her to any destination.

Nancy took up the cause against Lyme Disease when Jack was diagnosed, not only helping him, but also passing on her wealth of knowledge to others. Together they were very devoted to the Catholic Church and upon retirement regularly attended mass at Saint Columbkille Catholic Church in Fort Myers, Fl.

Nancy was very active and enjoyed golf, tai chi, water aerobics, walking, yoga and even keeping up with her youngest daughter, Kathy, in parasailing, zip-lining and jet skiing. It’s all documented on her Facebook page.

Anyone who met Nancy was immediately drawn to her friendliness and kindness. She was always smiling and positive. She had an enthusiasm for life that made you want to be around her. Nancy communicated daily through email with many friends and always ended each correspondence with “hugs”.

She also skyped every Sunday night with all her children and grandchildren. Nancy’s family will always carry with them her words of wisdom: “There is a place for everything and everything in its place”, and follow the Golden Rule.

Nancy’s loving presence will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday Dec. 17 at Saint Columbkille Catholic Church in Fort Myers. Following the service a reception will be held at Ariel at The Landings.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be sent to the Global Lyme Alliance.
