Maximo Antonio Reyes, 44, a longtime resident of Stamford and Darien, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 10.

Maximo Reyes, 44, passed away on Oct. 10. His wake and funeral are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 26.

Maximo Antonio was born Oct. 11, 1973 and was one of five children born to Maximo Ramon and Antonia Flores Reyes. He was born in La Vega, Dominican Republic, but came to Stamford at an early age.

He was a small business and restaurant owner and was known for his generosity and kind spirit. He touched many lives with his love, strength, positive energy and, best of all, a smile that could light up the world. He also enjoyed cooking, fishing and just relaxing by the ocean.

Maximo Antonio is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lina Donoso Reyes, a son, Maximo, daughter, Keli, his parents, Maximo Ramon and Antonia Flores, brother, Franklin, and sisters, Mildred, Yesenia and Belkis. Maximo Antonio was a loving father, husband, son, uncle, brother and friend to all.

His family will receive friends and relatives from 9 to 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 566 Elm Street in Stamford.

A Mass of Christian Burial funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow Mass at Spring Grove Cemetery, 41 Hecker Ave., Darien.
