Mary Greely, 88, passed away on Feb. 5. A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, Feb. 18.

Born in Cincinnati on June 20, 1928, she was the daughter of Robert Franklin and Ruth (Enger) Ives.

Mary and John married just after John was ordained an Episcopal minister. They moved to Toledo, Ohio to start their lives together. John worked as a hospital chaplain in the Toledo area.

As John’s ministry grew they moved to churches in Stonington, New York City, Boston and finally to Martha’s Vineyard at St. Andrew’s Church in Edgartown, Mass.

Mary and John enjoyed entertaining people and were very social.  Mary had many surprises with people whom John would bring home for dinner. One Thanksgiving he brought home a hitchhiker to whom he had offered a ride.
