A 56-year-old New Canaan man appears to have shot himself at the Talmadge Hill Railroad Station on Wednesday, said New Canaan police, who are still investigating the death.
According to the police announcement:
Police were dispatched to an upper parking lot at the station at 5:54 p.m., Wednesday “on a report of a male who might be in distress.”

Officers found the man, who appeared already to have shot himself, outside his own motor vehicle, according to the announcement.
The investigation into the man’s untimely death is active and police did not expect to release any further information immediately.
“It should be noted that this is an isolated incident and no danger exists to any other members of the public,” the announcement said.
