A 47-year-old resident of Duffy’s Lane threatened and assaulted another family member on two different domestic violence incidents, according to Darien police. He was also charged with risk of injury to a minor, a felony.

Police described the case with this information (including accusations not proven in court and not including any identifying information about the victim, such as what relationship she is to the man):

On Tuesday, Feb. 9, the victim reported the matter to police and told police she had spoken with an attorney earlier that day and had already gotten a restraining order against the man. Her lawyer had recommended that she file a complaint with police.

She said that on different occasions she was assaulted, and she was threatened by the man.

  • One occasion took place on Sept. 1, on Labor Day weekend 2015 (involving assault and threatening when two children were present);
  • On Oct. 15, 2015, he is also charged with threatening (according to the state Judicial Branch website).
  • On Christmas Day last year, she was assaulted by him. For that incident, he was also charged with three counts of risk of injury to a child because children were present then, too.

Police applied for and received an arrest warrant for the man, who was arrested the next day, Wednesday, Feb. 10. He posted $50,000 bond and appeared in state Superior Court in Stamford. His next court date is March 8.
