To the editor:

I want to thank the delegates of the Republican Party for nominating me as their candidate in the November election for state Senate. It is an honor to represent the people of Norwalk and Darien in the fight against one-party rule.

One-party Democratic rule has been devastating to Connecticut’s economy, both businesses and households. Bob Duff is the symbol of one-party rule and must be replaced. Residents of Norwalk and Darien are only too aware of the pain inflicted by Duff’s reckless budgets coupled and crippling tax increases.

In a year when the electorate is expressing its dissatisfaction with the political class, I decided to take action rather than complain about the status quo. That’s why I made a decision to seek public office. It is unrealistic to expect Duff to deliver the changes we need. Reelecting Duff and expecting different results? That’s the definition of insanity.

Small business is the source of innovation and job creation in America. That’s what I have been doing for the last 10 years: starting and running small businesses in the financial services industry. I understand the needs of the small business owner, the spirit of cooperation required to succeed and the humility necessary when a compromise is warranted.

Connecticut has been my family’s home for the last 16 years. I have watched first hand as Bob Duff and one-party rule have chased business out of the state and raised the cost of living here for all of us.

Bob Duff and I have substantive differences when it comes to government policies and practices as they affect Norwalk, Darien and the state in general. I look forward to sharing those differences with you in the months ahead. And I want to hear about your concerns and the issues that affect your families.
