Kings Highway Tennis Club has hired Camilo Sabogal of Bogota, Colombia as senior coach of JTCC High Performance beginning in September, TennisCT announced.

Kings Highway Tennis Club has hired Camilo Sabogal of Bogota, Colombia as senior coach of JTCC high performance beginning in September.

Sabogal’s credentials include head professional and academy director of tennis at two of Colombia’s most renowned tennis facilities. He also was a teaching professional at Van der Meer Tennis Academy in Hilton Head, S.C.

Sabogal has coached over 15 top players in Colombia who have reached rankings as high as 40 in the International Tennis Federation and 340 on the ATP Tour.

Former players Sabogal coached include, Facundo Mena, currently on the ATP Challenger Tour and Melisa Bolivar, who played at the University of Miami and former Colombian Junior Davis Cup participant.

“Camilo’s global tennis experience is an added bonus to the programming at Kings Highway,” said Jeff Gocke, president of TennisCT. “His experience in coaching top junior players in Colombia will help shape and improve the game of our dedicated junior players.”
