When a 27-year-old man was stopped while driving on the Post Road near the southbound-lanes enterance to Interstate 95, Exit 13, the police officer found the man was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court, so the man was arrested, police said.

Police gave this further account of what happened, including accusations not proven in court:

The driver, a Stamford resident, was stopped at 1:07 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18 because the officer thought the tint on the windows of the man’s vehicle appeared to be so dark they violated state law. No charges, however, were filed for that.

The man was arrested and taken to Darien Police Headquarters, then released on the court-set bond of $2,500. He is scheduled to appear April 27 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
