The themed gala, which supports the Norwalk-and Darien-based Person-to-Person (P2P), will inaugurate OPUS’ next twenty years of great works. “The Havana Nights committee has been hard at work to ensure this is an unfor-gettable evening,” says Jennifer Clemow, OPUS co-president.

Board Liaison Lisa Bishai with Co-Chairs Melanie Brucker, Heather de Bie, Shannon Doherty, Jennifer Handt, and Danielle Santoro, along with the Havana Nights committee, are also thrilled to announce the Havana Nights major sponsor, William Raveis.

The company announced its support with a $5,000 grant made by William Raveis, Chairman & CEO. “William Raveis is more than a real estate company — it’s a family owned business,” said Jake Fay, Sales Manager of William Raveis in Darien.

“We’re extremely proud of our association with such a worthy non-profit organization whose mission is to provide for thousands of families in need. P2P is truly remarkable in their fundraising efforts and we are excited to be a part of this great event. “

Havana Nights is also supported with in-kind donations from businesses including, Beverage Barn, Serendipity Magazine and White Bridge Liquors. Additionally, many businesses have donated items for this year’s auction. These contributors include: 1020 Post, Ben Larrabee Photography, Bodega Taco Bar, Dance on the DL, Fjord Fish Market, Hog Wild BBQ, J. McLaughlin, JoyRide Cycling Studio, Kings Highway Tennis Club, Lillian August, The Mayflower Grace Hotel, The Nantucket Hotel, Ocean House Hotel, Oxygen Fitness, Pure Barre, Rowayton Seafood, Sail to Sable, Serena and Lily, Sound Sailing Center, Sound Water Boat Cruises, Stanwich Country Club, Starbuck Equestrian, Total Wine, and Triumph Hotels NYC.

Tickets for the Havana Nights benefit are $225 for OPUS members and $250 for non-members. Tickets are available for up to groups of 10 and seating arrangements can be specified when purchasing tickets. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for Cuban cocktails overlooking the Long Island Sound.

With the beautifully renovated Tokeneke Club as the backdrop, the event calls for cocktail attire. And, of course, guests are welcome to have fun with Cuban flair if they like. Guests will enjoy a gourmet sit-down dinner featuring Cuban cuisine and can dance the night away with the nationally-acclaimed Sultans band returning for the second year in a row.

A silent auction, raffle and live auction hosted by CK Swett will feature a variety of items including luxury vacation and golf packages, beauty/wellness indulgences, VIP sports experiences, entertaining couple and group adventures, and other fine goods.

For your convenience, tickets can be purchased online this year on our newly designed website. For information on becoming an OPUS member, please visit this page on the website or email info@opus4p2p.org. Like OPUS on Facebook or follow OPUS on Twitter @opus4p2p.

The spring gala is the biggest OPUS fundraiser of the year, and Havana Nights promises to be one of the most exciting social events this spring. Last year, the Platinum Ball at Wee Burn Beach Club in Rowayton raised close to $210,000 for P2P and we are aiming for another successful event again this year.

Proceeds from Havana Nights will be used to support the P2P pro-grams that directly benefit children, including Camperships, the Holiday Toy Store, Baby Basics, and Scholarships. Each year, P2P serves more than 25,000 people from the seven towns of Darien, Stamford, Norwalk, New Canaan, Westport, Weston, and Wilton.

About OPUS for Person-to-Person

This year, OPUS inaugurates our next twenty years of great works — the goal that inspired our name. What do we mean by “great works?” It’s fundraising and public awareness to help Person-to-Person assist more than 25,000 individuals.

Support for the Emergency Food Pantry, providing three meals a day for those in need, and the “store” where clients can shop for clothing and necessities. It’s scholarship and camp programs to help children fulfill their promise.

Layettes for babies, and a holiday toy store for families to fulfill their children’s wishes. And emergency financial assistance when rent and utility checks can’t be written.

Most of all, it’s the lives we can change when we come together with a common purpose. For more information on this growing organization of more than 200 women and how to get involved, visit the OPUS website.
