The Darien Community Association (DCA) will feature a Wine Appreciation Series with Nicholas Roberts on three Wednesdays starting Jan 11 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
What better way to spend a cold winter night than tasting and learning about different wines? Join us by starting with the introduction class, then continue tasting and learning about white wines or red wines — or take all three classes and become a wine connoisseur!
- Class 1: Jan. 11 — Introduction to Wine Appreciation (required) Concentrates on tasting techniques and the senses. At the end of the class we will taste four wines: two whites and two reds. This class will be open to all.
- Class 2: Jan. 18 — Examining White Wines Open to anyone who has taken the Introduction to Wine Appreciation class. Brief review of tasting techniques and then concentration on six different basic white grape varietal wines – Sauvignon Blanc; Chardonnay, Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Blanc.
- Class 3: Jan. 25 — Examining Red Wines Open to anyone who has taken the Introduction to Wine Appreciation class. Brief review of tasting techniques and then concentration on six different basic red grape varietal wines – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Zinfandel.
Price for Class 1 only: DCA members $50 / public $55
Price for two classes: DCA members $95 / public $105 (Classes 1 & 2 or Classes 1 & 3)
Price for all three classes: DCA members $140 / public $155
