Darien Police: Tight Parking, Heavy Traffic Expected for DHS Open House Thursday Night

The Darien Police Department is issuing a traffic advisory related to the Darien High School Open House, scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 14.

Parents who are attending the event should be aware that parking at the high school is limited. Carpooling is strongly encouraged. Due to the large amount of traffic that is anticipated it will be necessary to limit vehicular access to the high school campus.

As of 6 p.m. on the evening of the event, access to the high school will be via the Noroton Avenue entrance only. High School Lane and Nutmeg Lane will be closed to traffic entering the high school.

Darien Police officers and Darien High School security personnel will be present to assist with an orderly method of parking.

Please be aware that there may be a significant traffic delay leading up to the start time. It will also be necessary to strictly enforce no parking regulations in order to allow the free movement of vehicles at the end of the event.
