The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the resumption of construction activity on Route 15, the Merritt Parkway, in Stamford and New Canaan from the Greenwich town line just north of Exit 31 (North Street) to the vicinity of Exit 37 (Route 124 / South Avenue).

Traffic will be shifted on Route 15 southbound and northbound near the area south of Newfield Avenue Bridge.

The project began in August 2013 and consists of 6.5 miles of roadway resurfacing, safety improvements, and landscaping enhancements.  The work also includes rehabilitation of five historic bridges that cross over Route 15. The bridges are Bridge 00712, Route 124 (South Avenue); Bridge 00710R, Metro North Railroad; Bridge 00708, Ponus Ridge; Bridge 00702, River Bank Road; Bridge 00700 Guinea Road.

DOT Project No. 0135-0270 was awarded to O&G Industries at a cost of $53,031,742.62 on July 23, 2013 and is anticipated to be completed in September 2016.

Expect lane closures during the below listed times:

Route 15 northbound traffic lanes

Monday-Thursday 8 PM to 6 AM
Friday from 8 PM to 11 AM Saturday
Saturday from 7 PM to 10 AM Sunday
Sunday from 8 PM to 6 AM Monday

Route 15 southbound traffic lanes

Monday-Friday from 7 PM to 6 AM following day
Friday from 7 PM to 9 AM Saturday
Saturday from 7 PM to 10 AM Sunday
Sunday from 9 PM to 6 AM Monday

 

Ramp Areas
Monday – Friday 10 AM TO 2 PM and 7 PM to 6 AM

 

Other Roadways
Monday – Friday 9 AM to 3 PM and 6 PM to 6 AM
Saturday and Sunday from 6 PM to 10 AM

Press advisories will be issued if additional traffic restriction become necessary.
