Charles W. Adcock, a lifelong resident of Darien, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 24 at Stamford Hospital. He was 95.

Charles W. Adcock Sr. passed away on Dec. 24. His wake will be on Dec. 28, and his funeral on Dec. 29.

Born on July 3, 1922 in Greenwich, he was the son of the late Charles G. Adcock and Elizabeth (Warner) Adcock. Charles graduated from Darien High School. He served in World War II and the Korean War as a signalman in the U.S. Navy.

He worked as a surveyor for many years, and also for Chartrek Travel and the Town of Darien. He was also a member of the Noroton Fire Department for 67 years.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Adcock, a son Charles W. Adcock, Jr., a sister Marion Oldrin and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stamford Hospital, Post 53 and the Villa at Stamford.

The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 29 at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien. A private family burial will be held at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford.
