A big — very big — black bear is coming to the Gardener’s Center and Florist at 1396 Post Road, and the store is asking people to suggest a name for him (or, presumably, her).
“He will be making his first appearance in front of our store on Saturday, Oct. 15. He will hang out there until he goes back into hibernation after the New Year,” the store said in an announcement.
The 8-foot-high black animal is constructed with a bench you can sit on, and the store invites you to come by and get your picture taken with the ursus benchus. The store will consider names dropped in a box from Saturday, Oct. 15 through Oct. 30.
“Please stop by, take a picture, and drop your name suggestion off in the box!” the Gardener’s Center announced. “We will be taking suggestions for two weeks and will reveal the winning name on Halloween through our Facebook page!”
