The Darien Community Association is delighted to present a Bridge Master Class with Augie Boehm on Friday, April 1st at 9:30 a.m.
Defense – Active or Passive? It’s a truism of bridge that you defend twice as often as you declare (unless you are a miraculous card holder). There are two modes of defense, active and passive.
This Master Class will explain how to recognize each type; the main clue is the appearance of the dummy. You will play eight deals to illustrate the main ideas.
Augie Boehm has taught bridge in and around the New York City area spanning four decades. He is the author of eight books, a regular columnist for the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) monthly magazine, and conducts bridge seminars worldwide.
A top professional player and winner of countless tournaments, he is also an accomplished pianist who performs annually at Carnegie Hall.
