Someone put almost $8,000 in charges on the American Express card of a 39-year-old Darien woman, who also found that her mobile phone was changed to another provider, possibly in an attempt to get information about the credit card, police said.

The woman reported the matter to Darien Police on May 9. She was able to fix the situation without losing any money. Police said there isn’t any evidence of local criminal activity.
